Two years after the wedding of our first not-nephew Tom, we’re attending the wedding of not-nephew number two Alex to the beautiful Abi. They have chosen to do it in style at a glorious French country house hotel, close to the town of Albi in Occitaine. With only a few rooms reserved for immediate family we’re staying in Albi along with most of the guests. The town is fascinating, with the most stunning cathedral we have ever come across. The event is scheduled over three days, Friday evening dinner in town, Saturday afternoon ceremony and evening bash, and Sunday afternoon BBQ and fairwells.
We are flying to Toulouse on Thursday, and then restricted to either waiting for the return flight next Thursday or choosing the weekly flight from Bordeaux which operates on Tuesdays. The latter is our choice, giving us a five-day mini break in a new part of France.
