We are promised a lovely sea day, but the weather gods have other plans.

From early morning, the rain comes and goes, but mostly it comes, in vast quantities. Husband is relegated to walking on deck five which is covered. I use the knee excuse to avoid this, but I swim my 100 lengths later to make up.

Great for reading and writing, but a fairly slow news day. I didn’t bother with the cooking demo, or the enrichment lecture either.

We sit out in the “office” as it’s not cold, although jumpers are needed occasionally as the wind crosses the deck.

We have a nice pizza made for lunch – half tomato & onion and half mushroom & blue cheese – meanwhile Joyce is quite naughty with repeated Chardonnay pourings.

After yesterday’s FaceTime tour, I decide to make a blog-tour today …

Starting at the top on deck eleven, of which there isn’t much, we have the masts, various games and a sun lounge area, clearly not needed today!

Dropping down to ten there is the Observation Lounge which is just setting up for Afternoon Tea, but anyone can use it anytime.

Nine is the location of our “office” plus SkyBar and sunloungers around the small rectangular walkway. There’s also the spa, which apart from our free massage we don’t frequent, it’s way too rich for Yorkshiremen – a 75 min massage is $249 plus 18% plus optional tip – crazy!!!

Connecting most floors is the double-helix staircase.

Eight is the first busy deck, here we have Patio Bar, Patio Grill, pool area, Solis – the smart restaurant we ate in last night – and also the huge Colonnade, our least visited eatery.

Seven is the highest deck enclosed bow to stern, and contains a lot of cabins, plus the fancy shop, a meeting room and the Seabourn Square area with purser’s desks, coffee shop and lots of seating, both indoor and out.

Six has the longest corridor of rooms, and at the stern houses the showlounge know as Grand Salon. There’s a lecture taking place as I tour. Also  the bow has our favourite jacuzzi.

Directly underneath is the Club on five which also has a sushi bar in the evening, a dance floor and small stage plus a casino and the stern has jacuzzis and a tiny pool.

Four is the location of MDR which is midship, the forward area has a few cabins and the aft is the huge galley area.

Seabourn is always asking for comments via their app, so about a week ago I pointed out that the chef’s Signature menu was the same as two weeks previous. It wasn’t a complaint, I just suggested it was thoughtless when over a quarter of the customers have had it already. Well, this went down very badly, chef came searching for us with a story, and it’s notable that he hasn’t spoken to us since! Later the Maitre d’ came to see us with a contradictory story.

With too little notice we couldn’t change that Signature, but with ample time we re-wrote three of the courses for Signature2, so tonight we have our own variation, lines 1, 5 and 6 … 2, 3 and 4 are the same for everyone. Our dinner is exceptional!

Twice baked goats cheese soufflé
Roasted butternut bisque
Risotto of forest mushrooms
Basil lime and lemon granita
Herb crusted rack of lamb
Crêpes Suzette

The turn on Quest tonight is Janine Johnson, a soul singer who’s performance is absolutely amazing, belting out classics from Franklin, Turner, Warwick, Adele and Bassey.

This is the third time we have enjoyed her performances over the years, she is extraordinary!!
