We’re very organised today. After breakfast we get all our packing done and before 11:00 the suitcases and rucksack are lined up ready to go. So I get a bit of work done, then make lunch whilst Hubby plays for the last time for a while. A quick shower and change and we are airport-ready.
Unfortunately there’s a massive crisis on the motorway, and our usual 22 minutes to TFS takes us an hour, as we wind around Adeje, Las Américas and Los Cristianos to avoid the log-jammed TF-1. There’s no wait at check-in but security has huge queues. We take the fast-track, but on the other side it’s a shambles, fortunately a new lane opens right in front of us and we’re amongst the first through.
The lounge is it’s usual welcome calm and I get a bit more work done, enjoying cava and the omni-present meatballs and Spanish omelette I always choose here even through there are many other choices. Finally we’re boarding the tiny A320 bound for Zürich, the young lady driving looks about eighteen, but clearly knows what to do.
We’re new to Edelweiss but we have nothing but praise for this line. Dinner is excellent, the wine flows nicely and of course the chocolate is glorious. With some amusement we overhear the announcement behind us which says “pay at the end for anything you’ve consumed during the flight” – just imagine that on Ryan or Easy?
Our arrival is equally satisfactory, and within fifteen minutes of landing we have our bags, have walked the ¼ mile to our hotel through the freezing fog and have parked up our baggage cart in our capacious room. The hotel looks lovely but we won’t have time to enjoy anything more than breakfast before we head off into Zürich to spend Friday exploring this city.
