Our new norm, we get 5km done before breakfast, and another 5km after. Although rain stops play for a few minutes, the bonus is a beautiful rainbow off the bow.
We have a very lazy morning on deck nine doing writing and Spanish and enjoying chocolate-dipped fruits before descending to Patio Grill on eight to order pizza.
After lunch it’s 50 lengths and then me going to meet a fellow programmer for afternoon tea in the observation lounge on deck ten. Afternoon tea is something I’ve not done since the old Cunard days of QE2 and Caronia, so it’s great to combine it with a good techie chat with Jon.
Returning to Hubby, who’s spent the time in the jacuzzi, I jump in too and we check emails for the first time all day.
Great news, I’m allowed into New Zealand! I don’t blame them for delaying, could it be the photo that makes me look like a criminal OR perhaps those three speeding tickets? Yes 3/4 of my lifetime achievement for speeding has been awarded by NZ Gov, all in the space of three weeks in 2003.
Moving swiftly on, we take a drink onto our balcony to watch the beautiful sunset before standard evening procedure.
Dinner is once again in MDR, we’ve yet to visit any other restaurant, and we enjoy scallop, quail & banana split and crab, lamb & soufflé.
The ship’s company of singers and dancers, several of who we know from other ships are giving their first performance this evening. It’s a production we have seen many times and enjoy again and again, all connected by the lyrics of Tim Rice.
