At sea once again, not just us, so is the boat building competition too.
Before then we do lots of deck walking, have breakfast with our delightful next-door neighbour, a former First Lady who is so kind and delightfully elegant.
Back to boat building, the very limited entries from just two teams mean it’s going to be a quick challenge – they are required to get from one end of the pool to the other carrying six cans and preferably not sinking on the way.
Sadly the first entry does sink, the second one makes it intact but the judges still favour the first as it’s got class and looks – whereas the second is just a box wrapped in tinfoil!
Lots of fun and an excuse for our mixologist Byron to invent the ”sinking ship” cocktail which is excellent.
Although it’s overcast the sun still feels strong and very warm, so we while away the afternoon between deck and pool, until the jacuzzi and our afternoon cocktails beckon, which turns out to be Pimms Cup again, as we enjoyed these yesterday.
Dinner tonight is in MDR and we’re making it a long dinner as we don’t want to go to the show – crab cake and seared tuna, clam chowder, osso busco and veal madallions, cheese, chocolate and blueberry cake and gelato – all perfect!
