Iberostar Grand El Mirodor is a delightful hotel, the staff are wonderful and take time to deliver the best service, and the public spaces are fabulous. There are many parallels with Seabourn, their basic room layout is almost the same, from front to back – balcony, lounge, bedroom, dressing room, bathroom. Here’s a few photos of the room.

Looking at our day, it’s the laziest we’ve had, starting with champagne for breakfast, well, it’s Sunday and we have something to celebrate – it’s Sunday!
Then we’re settled on garden, and additional y I enjoy a yoga session, pretty lightweight but still enjoyable.
We use the pass-door to get onto the beach and dip our toes in the briny for a while, resisting a swim as it’s too cold for me.
Lunch becons, so we wander over to the snack-bar for club sandwich and an hamburger, which cooked rare, is really steak tartare in a bun – gorgeous!
The hotel’s no single-use plastics means straws are now self-destructing – once you’ve done, just eat it!
We decide an hour of walking might be advisable so nip back into town, as I need to buy new flip-flops now I’ve just broken mine.
We are back soon enough to do as tiny bit of work on our balcony, then it’s time to shower and change for an early start meeting friends in the bar for drinkies. Turns out their reservation for dinner is as late as ours today, so we drink bucket-like glasses of G&T, and have to order more as there is so much to catch up with (even though we saw them less than two weeks ago!)
Our dinner in La Caleta is at the Restaurant 88, an excellent Chinese we found last visit. Returning tonigh it’s lovely to discover its every bit a good as last time, so much so we forgot to take photos of our dim sum before we’d scoffed them!
