His Aquitanic Majesty King Neptune commands me to write todays Court Report. Present are many members of court including her highness Amphitrite, and Davy Jones is his first assistant. A Jack Sparrow is the (first) drink of the day.

Onboard we have a large number of miscreant Slimy Pollywogs from various ship’s departments and of course customers who’ve never crossed the equator before.

The first, who is drawn by meat cleaver, is from housekeeping. Her blood stains the pool and prepared the way for the Seabourn Academy newbies. Finally from crew comes some other recent recruits.

Then we have a long procession of virgin customers, quite the most I’ve seen. The pool is nearly full and quite disgusting by the time all these dreadful Slimy Pollywogs have kissed the fish and been inducted into the mysteries of the deep to become Shellbacks, just like we had to in 2001, our first Equatorial crossing.

This reporter lost the plot with later revelations that Queen Amphitrite was perhaps less curvaceous than she should have been, her beard another clue – she was defrocked before joining the general madness.

 …

After feeling like crap for nearly a week, with a cough so annoying some people are avoiding me, I’m finally persuaded by Hubby to ”get seen to”-  so we trot downstairs many decks to the ship’s hospital. At first the nurse is quite stern (but he redeems himself later) and I’m given a bit of a lecture but get cough medicine and stuff plus a Covid test.

Later on Husband is not convinced so I’m ”taken down” again this time to see the Good Doctor. I have to have another Covid and various other tests first, but the delightful Doc concludes there’s nothing serious to worry about and antibiotics should calm things down.

With little time to spare we return, quickly shower and dress into dinner jacket atire because it’s the Seabourn repeat offenders gala event where Natalie and Damien treat us to a waltz before a special dinner in MDR.

Tonight we enjoy seafood soufflé, corn chowder chateaubriand & cheese and caviar, corn chowder, lobster three ways and chocolate soufflé.

Tonight’s turn is the lovely Michael Washington whom we had lunch with a couple of days ago, his laid-back covers from Marvin Gaye to Michael Bublé are just fabulous.
